Guide
Living in Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club
Royal Palm is old Boca in the best sense. Founded in 1959 on land Arthur Vining Davis chose next to what is now the Boca Raton Resort & Club, it is a guarded, limited-access neighborhood of fewer than 700 homes. Its streets run along the Intracoastal, a private golf course and three man-made islands.
For Anasa Collection buyers it often comes down to one question, asked early: do you want to live inside Royal Palm, belong to the club, or both? They are separate decisions.
Who this guide is for
- Buyers who want deep-water or golf-course frontage in East Boca
- Boat owners who measure a home by its dock as much as its kitchen
- Anasa Collection clients who care how a house lives, not only how it lists
No invented comps. No volume brags. Just orientation — then a concierge, then a person.
Location & access
The homeowners association describes the boundaries clearly: Federal Highway to the west, Camino Real to the north, the Hillsboro River to the south and the Intracoastal Waterway to the east. There are two gatehouses at opposite ends of Royal Palm Way. The West Gate is at Federal Highway and Southwest 18th Street, and the North Gate is on East Camino Real, facing the entrance of the Boca Raton Resort & Club.
Mizner Park, downtown Boca's dining and the resort corridor are all close by. The beach is across the Intracoastal, on the barrier island.
The neighborhood & homes
The neighborhood covers about 450 acres. The association counts 229 water lots, 285 golf course lots and 231 interior lots. Owners have combined some lots over the years, which leaves fewer than 700 homes on about 750 lots. The three islands, Alexander Palm, Coconut Palm and Key Palm, have waterways that connect to the Intracoastal.
Homes range from early single-story houses to large estates built on combined lots. On any given street you may find a renovated original next to new construction, so the question here is rarely the neighborhood. It is the lot: its exposure, its water depth, its view and whether the house suits it.
Security & standards. The Royal Palm Improvement Association (RPIA) is the homeowners association. It runs the neighborhood's own security force, with more than twenty full-time officers, and reviews construction and exterior changes so they meet the community's architectural standards.
The club: golf, marina & amenities
Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club is a private club that sits within the neighborhood.
Golf. The original course was designed by Robert Trent Jones, and Sam Snead was the club's first golf professional. Today it is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course, fully renovated by the Nicklaus design team in 2024, with more than 7,000 yards of play from its back tees.
Marina. The marina is the club's centerpiece: more than 60 slips, room for yachts up to 130 feet, a floating dock system and a full-time dockmaster. Its waterways connect to the Intracoastal, Lake Boca Raton and the ocean.
Campus. A remodeled Yacht Club with dining and event space, a waterside bar called The Office, a pool and sports court, five tennis courts, a Wellness Center with personal training, group fitness, Pilates and spa services, and a two-story Country Club with a pro shop and locker rooms. The club's 2024 updates included renovated tennis and pickleball courts.
How membership works
Owning a home in Royal Palm does not make you a club member, and owning one is not required to join. The club says membership is by invitation, with members overseeing the selection of candidates, and that there are no residency requirements. Homeowners belong to the RPIA. The club is a separate decision, with its own process and its own costs. Ask the club about current categories and timing directly. Initiation and dues are not published on the club's site, and this guide does not repeat secondhand figures.
Frequently asked
Do I have to join the club if I buy a home? No. Homeownership and club membership are separate. The club says membership is by invitation and has no residency requirement.
Is Royal Palm gated? It is a limited-access community with gatehouses at both ends of Royal Palm Way and its own security force run by the homeowners association.
How large a boat can the marina handle? The club says its marina has more than 60 slips and can take yachts up to 130 feet. For a home on the water, confirm the dock, its permits and the water depth property by property.
Who designed the golf course? It began as a Robert Trent Jones design. Today it is a Jack Nicklaus Signature course, fully renovated by the Nicklaus team in 2024.
Where exactly is it? In East Boca Raton, between Federal Highway and the Intracoastal, south of Camino Real and north of the Hillsboro River, across from the Boca Raton Resort & Club.
How Hobson helps
Hobson is the AI concierge for The Anasa Collection. Tell him what the right home feels like: water or fairway, how much boat you have, privacy, guest flow, whether the club is part of the plan, your budget band. He helps you narrow Royal Palm down to the right streets, and the right lots, before a single showing.
Soft next step
At Royal Palm, the lot is the decision and the house follows. Let Hobson sharpen the brief. Let Paul handle the doors.
